Submissions received for ChiiKaku 02 – 0

Just to remind anyone who may have forgotten, ChiiKaku is our version of a drawing competition.

In ChiiKaku, the main goal is for you, the artist, to submit a drawing that follows all of the criteria for that particular competition. These criteria are most usually the keywords. ChiiKaku is all about the keywords(themes). For every competition, an amount of keywords will be revealed at the start of the competition. Each of the keywords must be incorporated into the drawing in some way. For instance, if one of the keywords is ribbon, then a ribbon should be incorporated into your drawing. If one or more keywords are not incorporated into the drawing, then your drawing will not be accepted.

Submissions should be sent to the Atv-Oni-Ota e-mail before the deadline. Our e-mail is atv-oni-ota@hotmail.com. Submissions will not be accepted after the deadline. Please include “ChiiKaku” or “atv-oni-ota” in the e-mail header. If something to identify the e-mail is not present, odds are high that it will be ignored.

After the deadline is over, a new post will be made featuring the candidate drawings in anonymous fashion. There will then be a voting period that will run for a number of days. After the polls close, the winner is decided and he or she will forever be preserved in the ChiiKaku Winner’s Gallery.

So that’s really it for the rules. I’m sure I forgot something, but that’s why we have the About ChiKaku page. Go check out that page for more information about ChiiKaku.

Yep. I’ve finally gained enough courage to go ahead with ChiiKaku! It took weeks of preparation and a lot of help from Atvrcr, but here it is ready to go! What is ChiiKaku you ask? ChiiKaku is our version of a drawing competition. You may know it better as “Atv x Oni” which is what Atvrcr and I called it for preliminary test purposes.

Now, “Atv x Oni” and ChiiKaku have lots of similarities, but also some differences, so I’d just like to establish the major rules here since this is the first official ChiiKaku.

If one or more keywords are not incorporated into the drawing, then your drawing will not be accepted.

The deadline. The deadline is there more to give people who want to enter the free time to do so. If we have the deadline over a number of days instead of a number of hours like in Atv x Oni, it will hopefully give more people more chances to get their drawings done.

Alrighty, last but not least, I have a favor for you! Since this is the first ChiiKaku, it’s not really known. Let’s work together to make ChiiKaku big. Stick a banner on your site; we’ll link back to you too, so it’s a win win situation! Tell your friends or stick a small miniscule link in your forum signatures. If not for me, then do it for the lolis.

>A Bit of Fan Art!

>

Just as the title of the post says! It’s a bit of fan art. I’m not going to reveal what it’s from, so if anyone wants to take a guess as to what this might be from, please, please, do so! I’ll let you know if you get it wrong. And if you happen to get it right, I’ll give you a tomato. And don’t hate the tomato… It’s will is so strong, it’s name can be said 2 different ways.

Some more info about this drawing: I showed my mom and my sister. My mom laughed and my sister said the feet looked like blocks. Aren’t they encouraging? Anyway… Make sure you vote in this freaking POLL!!! Thanks.

>Atv X Oni Showdown!!

>    Welcome everyone to the very first Atv X Oni Showdown!! Let me explain the rules. Quite simply, this is a drawing session between Atvrcr and I with a common theme to link both drawings. Step 1 – Before we start drawing, we each throw out keywords that must be included in the drawing. Step 2 – We establish a set time limit to ensure a fair showdown. Step 3 – We draw in an epic battle of wits, stamina, and genius.

This is the very first time we’ve done this, and we’ve yet to establish much besides the rules I’ve just described. I actually found it to be quite exhilarating toward the end when I was running out of time to finish. Anyway, here’s the down low.

>Hidamari Drawing Brigade

>

Don’t let the paragraphs of text scare you! It’s really not that hard at all once you get the hang of it. For me It’s pretty much effortless. Why, I can- What? You want to know what this is? Well, then allow me to explain.

The Hidamari Drawing Brigade is just a little thing I made up one day in an attempt to find more motivation to help me draw more. For me, the card works great. It sort of reminds me of grinding in an MMORPG to get level ups :P.

Anyway, this card is used basically to keep track of how much you draw. Every time you draw, you gain a certain amount of points based on what you accomplished. And when you don’t draw, there is an experience penalty. Now, I’m not sure what other people will think of this, but It’s really been working for me.

As of right now, I have 1286 experience points and am a level 50. This is after almost a year of drawing. I made the first prototype card back in October of 2009.

All rules for the methods of gaining experience and such is all explained right on the card. Should any questions arise, please post a comment so I can make necessary adjustments.

Here are the print pages. Right click and go to “view in new tab” to see them in full size. Just print the first one, take that same page, and print on the back to make the card. It’s simple. Let me know what you think.

Of course, this card only covers the first 10 levels. Within the next few days, I hope to post cards that go all the way up to level 60.
